Bill Moyer Theater Arts Award
Each year Playcrafters sponsors the Bill Moyer Theatre Arts Award. The program began in 1982 as the Playcrafters Theatre Arts Award and was given each year to a high school senior in the Perkiomen Valley School District.
In 1994 the name of the award was changed to the Bill Moyer Theatre Arts Award as a memorial to a long time Playcrafter, Willoughby “Bill” Moyer, and Playcrafters opened the award competition to other local area high schools. The current award is in the amount of $600 for one winner; $300 each if two awards are granted; and, in the unlikely event there are three winners, the amount will be $200 each.
Interested high school seniors should access the pdf and follow the instructions to apply for the award.
Criteria
The applicant must have been in an aspect of theatre arts while in high school. An essay will need to be submitted along with the application describing how you got involved in theatre, how it has helped you grow as a person, and how these experiences will benefit you in whatever career you pursue. The applicant expresses a willingness to communicate with Playcrafters regarding future progress and plans.
