Production History
Playcrafters has been producing theater since 1949. We currently run six shows per year with a total of 60 performances, plus special events. History of Playcrafters Playcrafters community theater originated in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. The theater’s first performance was You Can’t Take it With You in March of 1949. Playcrafters continued to produce classic shows like Our Town and Laura, building a reputation for great theater. In 1956, the move to Skippack began. Dage Nilsson bought some land adjacent to his property, including an old barn. His son-in-law was a member of Playcrafters and suggested that the barn could be spruced up and made into a theater.
